I am trying to understand how reliable the 0-ply rollouts are when it comes to identifying the proper play. I am not much interested in the actual equity of the plays; I just want to know what the best play is.

So, the point is that if 0-ply rollouts are as good as 2-ply rollouts at discriminating between plays, then it may make sense to use them instead of the more resource-intensive 2-ply rollouts. Putting it another way, why bother doing a 2-ply rollout when a 0-ply rollout can pick out the top play just as well.
