Thanks, Xavier. That confirms what I observed with XGR+. Covering the 4pt is apparently a must. In the variant position I posted, with Black's 24pt checker advanced to the 23pt, XGR+ prefers 13/12* 9/4. With 2 fewer return shots and no chance that Black will make a second anchor right away, it's apparently better to send another checker back at the risk of leaving the bar point open.
