0-ply rollouts are probably marginally more reliable than 2-ply evaluations, but they're much less reliable than 2-ply rollouts. 2-ply rollouts seem to be the "knee in the curve," i.e., beyond that, the gain in accuracy for the amount of compute time seems not to be worth it in most cases.

This, anyway, is the conventional wisdom. It could be wrong, but it's based on a great deal of experience by very strong players who have done tons of rollouts.
