I've made many mistakes stepping up improperly with the lone back checker over the past year. Here it is very clear to not do so, since the checker can be easily and profitably attacked by those builders. Anytime I am stepping up with the lone back checker I pause for a bit and make sure this is really what I need to do. Of course, if there's a growing 4 prime in front of me, then there's more urgency to come up, but that isn't the case here with the bar pt open.
