I still hit, since much cubeful rollout experience over the past couple of years has tought me that in normal gammon value situations one should make plays that clearly win more games, unless they are much more gammonish than the more passive alternative(s).

6/4x make most of Stick's 6's play quite poorly and give us more chance to equal the game. If we just passive advance our anchor Stick's back checkers usually escape and we are left suffering in a mediocre holding game quite often.

If we get hit, the game should go on and we may develop a better position on either side of the board.
