In Response To: Tough Play In Late Game; Forced To Leave A Shot (Paul Weaver)

This is another play where the choices whittle themselves down and only one play is left standing. The first play I saw and dismissed was making the three point. I don't like offering up another blot, leaving so many shots, and unhemming my opponent allowing him to escape with both fives and sixes whereas now he can only get out with fives.

The next two plays to consider were running all the way with 18/12 versus running part way with 18/13 and then 6/5 for the ace and see if the duplication of fours is worth it. Running all the way leaves 21 shots at the outfield blot and then 4s will of course be used to hit loose 5/1*. Stopping at the 13 point leaves quite a few more shots at the outfield checker, the one which is most costly when hit. 18/13 6/5 leaves a total of 25 shots it seems. Too many more in my opinion. Of these plays I'd say 18/12 is best.

Is there anything else? The super wimp play of 6/1 5/4 which still leaves sevens and nines to hit the outfield blot and compromises your position long term far too much. It seems to be 18/12 should be best.
