Quick count says ripping off 3 checkers leaves 7 immediate shots and a nice distribution whereas clearing and taking off only 1 checker leaves 6 immediate shots. Two checkers off in exchange for one extra shot leaving number? Sounds like a deal to me, rip 'em. The one extra shot leaving number happens to be 66 which will take off 4 checkers in the process to boot.
