Does XG do this just to be different?

Ah.. i had not understood what you meant.

XG will play the furtherest checkers first: for instance 51 opening it plays 24/23 and then 13/8, so the lowest first. for 42 it plays 8/4 6/4 so the largest first.

in case it moves 2 checkers form the same point it will play the largest first, for instance 43: 13/10 and then 13/9

Ok good I'm not going mad.

Of course it doesn't matter but all other bots I've used play the highest dice first.
