1) D/T

White has a number of reasons to take: The race is within reach, and he has an anchor, Black has 2 blots to bring home and an outside point to clear.

The main drawbacks are of course the direct shot which is painful, and the open 6 point which does not make all hits winners. Still I feel White has enough

2) D/D

Maybe not a big drop, as Black has few builders, and her back men has a way to go and somewhat of a blockade to negotiate. Still, even when White enters early any counterplay will usually come at the cost of giving Black hitting numbers which will be lethal. Also the blot on the ace is en eyesore in these variations.

3) 8/5 6/5

I have read the article...

It is thematic to attack a lone man, but any attack here must start with making the point. Furthermore, unstacking the heavy 6 is good in itself. Making the anchor isn't necessary as White is not in danger of being blocked, and it releases some pressure on Black's stacks - allowing her to play behind the anchor.

4) 22/15

Simple plays for simple minds. The 6 prime is nice but not necessary. Not that slotting the 9 is a big risk, Jumping out isn't particularily comfortable for White anyhow, but once you start laying blots around strange things can happen. I like simple here.

5) D/D

Looks like a big enough drop to make the double a thinker. Still, I cannot find the go for gammon here, I cash.
