#1 - The non hit play leaves you up 1 pip which is worth about 2.5% and then a better distribution is probably also another 1% so 53.5%/46.5% with no gammons for the non hitting 13/10 play. Hitting leaves you a much bigger favorite and gammons can largely be ignored since the cube is centered in most cases it will end the game and gammons won't exist. The idea is to minimize shots, hope not to get hit, and cube your opponent out. 13/11* 3/2 does that. I'd guess it leaves you winning 2/3rds of the games since there are a couple non hitting scenarios where your opponent isn't out of the game just yet, namely 44 45 46 36.

#2 - You are going to hit and he's favored to come in. His racing lead is gigantic. Best to wait, hope he fans then maybe you'll have a cube.
