1. 16 and 9. Hopping the prime is important, and this play keeps the checkers in useful places.
2. 13/8. Quiet when Magriel's criteria call for a quiet move, and an useful balancing of the spares.
3. 18/17* 13/11. Hit for the gammons, Black's timing is gone in either case, and 13/11 to try to extend the prime.
4. White has a very nice defensive position and a strong board. Unfortunately, next roll one of these will be gone. Double, pass.
5. 24/23 8/6. And hope to hop next.
6. Double and take. White needs about 5-6 rolls to get all checkers past black's defense. Even if hit one or two times, black will often have no checkers on the bar before white has run past, and figures to get a lost of shots, combined with a strong board good for a lot of wins. I take.
7. Double and take. Too much structure to let this one go.
