Redouble to 8?

If the cube was centered I'd ship it to active gammons for Jacoby rule. You're right that changing a checker here or there in this sort of position can make a huge difference. As a mental exercise it's fun to push around checkers here and there from the original position with a bot and think to yourself "what should happen if I move this checker from here to there?"
This position I would wonder what happens if I take one of the spares from Blue's 3pt and put it back on the 6pt? After that I reset to the original position and think to myself, what should happen if I put White's checker on 5pt on the 7pt so that I have entering/hitting sixes and more importantly now when I hit something on his side of the board coming in from the bar any random five doesn't give him the anchor? Etc...
It is probably far away from a technical recube but playing for money and shipping an 8 cube I would seriously consider doing it depending on who my opponent(s) were. In a chouette I'd cube in a heartbeat against the field because many won't understand the position seeing it as more gammonish as it is and others will be frightened to death of losing a gammon on an 8 cube because the stakes do matter to them when they shouldn't.
