Donkey Hit?

This is not a complete answer, but in general, one thing to count when deciding whether to hit when containing a checker is the number of immediate rolls your opponent has to escape. Here, your prime is almost complete, and hitting doesn't decrease the number of escaping rolls, so it doesn't accomplish much. Furthermore you worsen your containment chances by unslotting your 3pt to hit.
Psychologically it may feel that your opponent is contained more effectively when he dances than when he is blocked by your prime, but often the difference is less significant than it feels, and other features of the position are more important.
