So far as i understand the problem, the drawback of the blitzing approach is, that you can never use the cube in the developing volatile position and you have to play to the end.
If you play the run, you have several ways to win. Blue escapes and doubles you, you can play with the cube on 2 (avoiding the 4, which might be also a value). You can win the race. You can attack. You can prime. And you can cube much more at the point of last take. And the danger after cube and recube loosing a gammon and the match, is very low. I feel, that the sum of all this above can top the approach to win an undoubled gammon. Therefore, i would estimate, that White with this bunch of possibilities will win much more percents with the run then throwing the bomb.
