Here are some candidates.

1. When behind in the match, double aggressively, take deeply, and strive for gammonish positions. When ahead in the match, do the opposite.

2. Don't come under the gun (of three builders).

3. Don't make the ace point.

4. Attack one checker; prime two or more checkers.

5. Make your bar point. This one may need some explanation. I see people over-valuing the bar point all the time, e.g., refusing to switch from the bar point to the 5pt with a roll of 21, making the bar point in endgame positions when they should be trying to clear the bar point, making the bar point when they should be trying to build their board instead, and so on.
