Much more of a difference than I would have expected!

Keep him on the bar and don't give him that acepoint wins a lot more games as well.

A gammon have very little value at this score because all it does is take away the opponent's post-Crawford free drop, so the superiority of 7/1* 3/1 at literal DMP is really the same fact, not an additional fact (as your wording seems to imply).
