1. White has enough racing chances for a take, and some opportunities to contain Black's last man. But his structure is inflexible, he can't anchor, and there must be gammon danger if Black can carry out a blitz. Double, Pass. Estimate 25+10g-20g.
2. Every move looks awkward. Black's problems are his stacked midpoint and back man. I think I'll work against these with 23/20 13/8, which improves my distribution, aims for an anchor, covers the outfield and offers the best hope of return shots if White is hit.
3. Having the better board and one man still to contain, Black's take looks comfortable. White could improve very quickly, so I think he just about has a cube. Estimate 60+25-16.
4. Black has great chances to complete a 4-point board. I'd be dropping as Black. Is it too good? Black's five rear men should be able to escape easily enough, but there is a long way to go around the board, so White will have some counterplay somewhere. Redouble and Pass. Estimate 70+40-15.
5. Clearing the 14 point looks to be the best play that doesn't lift the blot, and I prefer 14/8 5/4 if I leave it slotted. Leaving the double shot is too much for me against Black's board. A five point baord would leave me in good shape, so I go with 14/8 14/13.
