A Very Tough Ruling in the Cleveland Finals

Phil,
I agree with you on the need to have certain rules changed. I also agree with you on the need for a guide on how to rule if certain infractions occur. If you were to create an updated set of rules and a seperate guide for directors to assist them with ruling on infractions, and it was reviewed by a large number of the "Bigshots" in our small community, I am confident the powers that be, "The Director of the ABT" would gladly approve such changes. In fact he has stated that any person that thinks they could write a better set of rules should "go ahead and do it." As a director on the ABT I would be extatic to see these rules amended and believe that you are the guy to do it!
Phil So if there is doubt as to whether the dice were rolled properly or not, the fairest ruling would be to allow the opponent to decide if the roll should stand or go over. The other player might not like his opponent having such a choice, but it was his fault for not rolling properly and causing the incident.
It is not a major disagreement but I do disagree with you on one point. I am guessing Greg may have been a bit nervous in this situation and believe penalizing him or anyone else at this juncture is not needed. What is needed is a rule that clearly states whether or not the role is valid or invalid.
