1) D/P. I don't remember Kit's reference positions here. What I do remember is that the number of checkers bearing on the open point makes a big difference. If we don't roll one of the closing numbers, we figure to put one of our blots on our 6-point, so there will be a single indirect. Black is left with some racing chances, but I'd expect a close pass.
2) ND/T. I don't see any market loss here. Black's timing shouldn't be a problem since we will at best make our bar point. Either Black will have pips to play with the midpoint blot, either two checkers on the bar and plenty of time for White to reopen the bar point. And the 3-1 backgame is efficient even after we have borne everything in.
3) B/22 7/3*. It hurts the eye to keep 4 checkers on the 22, but Black would too much like to close the bar or the 6-point. Being hit doesn't seem to hurt us much.
4) 23/17* 9/8*. As much as I like the pretty 23/17* 6/5, I'd leave it for DMP. The plan after the double hit is to make the five, to collect the blots and to play a priming game with a short prime but with the opponent's timing being very precarious. Letting Black close the full prime instead looks like a losing proposition.
5) 21/11. It goes against the principle of not racing when down in the race, but it also brings an extra checker for priming at the moment when the opponent's board is weak.
