Another strange incident from the Cleveland Tourney

Let me start by thanking Phil, Steve, Rochelle, David and others for support. Really, innocence needs no defense, but since you all know one side of the story I thought I'll offer some explanation and facts, not perception.
When Linda called my name when I was smoking w/ Rochelle (4:22 PM) it was a shock to me. Very soon I realized I made a mistake, apologized to Peggy and directors like zillion times, gave money away to directors, refused to hedge and the match begun. I would call the atmosphere during the match as friendly, no ill feelings were evident to me at the time.
First 3 games were insane. I never experienced so complex, long games in back-to-back-to-back's, and I've been playing for over 35 years. There were no automatic moves, a constant struggle for both of us, challenging and exiting. This is when I mentioned that my flight is at 9 PM, I hope I won't miss it. It was probably 5:30 on the clock at the time. Whining???
With the score tied at 3 I doubled when my opponent decided to leave the anchor. I hit, covered and the match was over. My doubles at the end didn't matter, abandoning the 5 point did.
Only later I realized why Peggy was watching my semi-final. Only later I realized she was already a finalist and waiting for that match to finish. She was talking during my match and I was trying to concentrate, I tried to tune her out but later the picture became clear.
After the match I realized Peggy was still mad at me. She just said it. What could I do? I made a mistake, apologized not once, not twice; and moved on. I need no apology from her for her article - she can't offend me, I know who I am and what I stand for. And people who know me know better as well.
Thank you all for kind comments.
