1. In Yellow's favor: ten checkers in the zone with two on the bar, 5pt made, Black has only the bar-point made in defense. In Black's favor: Yellow has only two homeboard points and a homeboard blot, and has not split the back checkers yet, nor does Black have any other blots to pick up. The points in Yellow's favor seem very strong to me so I would double. The take I'm less sure about, but I think the points in Black's favor allow a close take.
2. 42 pips ahead in the race when Black's board is weak means that I run off the anchor now. 18/8.
3. This calculation is easy and others have already posted it. D/T.
4. My first instinct was that this was a take, but let's do some counting. 21 31 54 61 63 33 66 leave a direct shot, 32 51 52 leave indirect shots, and 41 42 43 44 leave just one or two rolls to hit from the bar. That's maybe 5 or 6 wins for Yellow. Is there enough later shot vig and racing vig to make up the difference? Yellow's board isn't perfect and Yellow also loses some gammons. I'm now inclined to drop, though I'm not sure. D/P.
5. At DMP I'd hit, but this isn't DMP. I think hitting loses too many gammons. So is it 16/13 3/1 or 16/11? 16/13 3/1 means that we temporarily forgo our chances to hit Black as he hangs back or ambles around the board. Is that privilege worth the 5 immediate losers? Not sure but I'm going to chicken out. 16/13 3/1.
