Tweeners are often right. Might be right here. The busted board looks crappy and the hit looks scary. I had a hard time picking; often that means the plays are close, or at least that two of them are.

But I'm sympathetic to "Tweeners are never right." Maybe I would have been more of an advocate of that saying, inadvertently biased, if the saying had existed when I saw Kleinman (in one of his books) argue in favor of a tweener double-ace play after (I believe) 53P 31P 21S 11 (I'm hesitant to use nactation perhaps because of my incipient senility--though I'm not hesitant not to capitalize the term, trying to accelerate a linguistic trend, while perhaps offending G. Orwell's shade with a double-not).

Kleinman wanted 8/7(2) 6/5 24/23 because of all the good things it did (what would the nactation be for that move, M? M-biguous, groannn). I disagreed and wanted the non-tweener 6/4(2) (which must be P and must be right--it was some early match situation, I think).
