It took me less time to find the alternatives. I also play 8/2, but 6/2 3/1 should be close, avoiding some immediate blot numbers. I think the long term advantages of starting to clear and keeping a board exceed the anti-joker avoidance + rebuild capacity of 6/2 3/1, but only with a small margin.
