I also agree with Phil - I'd still play for smaller prizes, points and prestige. Once you have thousands of players the prizes will be OK too.

The problem the way it is now, a main event entry fee of $500 (at least) to win a few thousand dollars (compared to tens of thousands for Poker), $400 airfare, $300 hotel etc - the big entry fees are a deterrant for many who otherwise would play like Phil says with larger fields, lower prizes but more prestige and social value interacting with hundreds of people.

Like people who go to Vegas for a holiday who aren't real gamblers and budget $100 - $200 for a small gamble on something. But $500 and then side events, if you don't win you go home maybe minus $1500 - $2000 and wonder why you didn't buy an Ipad or a new Laptop, go to the beach etc and still end up way ahead, not exhausted from traveling etc.
