of course backgammon has been solved

if there are 3 free bots available, all 5+ years old like gnubg, monte carlo & jellyfish lite, that can beat 90% of all b-g players 90% of the time, that for me means that the b-g problem is "solved" because the programming technology has captured enough human knowledge to play very well & show that this actually can be done, as opposed to writing a computer program (say) to create nuclear fusion, which i don't think can be done because even people don't know how to do this yet
are these #s accurate ? the 3 free bots are & the commercial bots available are even stronger, are the 90% numbers accurate ? certainly close enough for my book but clearly not enough for competitive players with good ratings etc
obviously the bots have weaknesses, i had read about the backgame weaknesses that experts can exploit but don't know all the details about how neural nets learn & so the non-common positions won't have much coverage
otherwise you are the bot coder :)
