1. Plenty of choices here. Advancing the anchor with 24/18 21/18 looks wrongheaded here when we're behind in the race and in danger of getting attacked. Similarly I don't think there's much reason to run the back checker while White still has a blot on her 2pt. It's our blot on the 22pt that seems to be the most poorly placed so I run it with 22/16. After that, I think the choice is between 16/13 and 11/8. White would rather hit in her outfield than break anchor, especially with a blot in her home board, so I'll just continue on to the midpoint. 22/13.
2. Splitting is mandatory with the opponent's advanced anchor. There are several choices here: 24/21, 24/23 24/22, 24/23 13/11, and 24/22 6/5. I'm inclined to play 24/22 6/5. White's 31 51 61 already play well so her 1's are duplicated somewhat, and we have the slightly stronger board. The two spares on the 6pt want to be on the 5pt so why not put one there?
3. The first three 1's are 6/5*/4 24/23, and then it's a choice between 23/22 and 14/13. I think 23/22 improves our position more; the blot on the 14pt is not in much danger from White's stripped midpoint and a blot on the 23pt is poorly placed when White holds the 8pt. 24/22 6/5*/4 for me.
4. Tricky! Making the 5pt would be a next at a normal score, but this is gammon save. Is that enough to tip the balance to anchor and down? Not sure but I'll go with the anchor. 22/21 13/10
5. White needs 11% to take and I don't know my race formulas as well as I should but it looks like an easy take. Enough to double? Maybe, but I'd hold. I'm not too upset to lose my market at this score. ND/T.
