- 1: 23/22 13/9
- Nothing looks too promising. Blue's has a small race lead, but trying to protect it with 13/8 seems to surrender all initiative. The most initiative-grabbing play 6/2*/1* looks better, but I still feel that it leaves Blue with too much to do. It would basically be a play to gain time to anchor or escape more than a hope for a successful blitz, but the blot left still needs to be taken care of, and Blue's position is likely to stay full of holes. My nod goes to the tweener play 13/9 23/22 which starts working the back checkers while also making some attempts for a more threatening forward position. Only 6 numbers hit, 35 is dup'ed and a hit means that White cannot also bring down builders.
- 2: Double/Drop
- The take is the question. Blue is almost nowhere, and White can win by priming, racing or attacking, I count 3/3 prat indicators and let this one go.
- 3:b/23 13/9 12/10
- Beats me, I got to play something though.
- 4: 20/13
- Blues race lead isn't all that big, but he got the comfortable jumping number now, and White isn't that well positioned to take advantage. Esp. on the missing rolls White isn't likely to make another board point which would then put more pressure on Blue to safety the other checker immediately.
- 5: Double/take
- Keith count scores this as 70-69 which would be drop, but the adding 8 to the leaders count of 62 feels a bit low, 62 being very close to 63. Also, in my recent investigation on crossovers, I found that with flat distributions like this it does indeed seem to be a real difference between 1 and 2 crossovers. I think this allows a comfortable take.
