- 1: 8/3 6/3
- I think the back man is safer on 24 for the time being - in any case jumping seems to be make White's plays easier where plays that don't hit play easily in White's board. And getting hit wastes the roll or worse, while getting away with it still leaves Blue behind in the race and White chasing a game winning doublet. Thus I play the simple minded 8/3 6/3 (and await the rollout that probably will tell that 13/8 6/3 is better for not stripping the 8pt ...)
- 2: 24/13
- This is one of the positions where a case can be made for something like 24/18 13/8 putting pressure on all of the board. If I knew that an efficient cube were likely to arise from such I play I could be convinced, but as it is I feel that the more straight forward play will allow me to get the more efficient cube.
- 3: 13/9(2)
- I cannot get the runner to safety anyhow, so I grab the blocking point. Come to think of it maybe that would be the better play in any case...
- 4: 8/1*
- I hate to leave White his full roll here, with 6s that jump, 3-4-5 combinations that point, and all other rolls at least hitting loose. In for a penny in for a pound, 8/1* leaves one more blot, but only 2 more hitting numbers, and gives 30 cover numbers next turn rather than 19 after 6/3 5/1*
- 5: 24/21 4/2
- It's not a beauty contest. I think Blue must just start trying to extricate while he still has some flex left.
