Doublets can also be an advantage for the skilled player in some cases (I'm recycling some arguments from this post:

1) Races with doublets go faster, so more games per hour. Advantage to skilled player on a time basis.

2) N vs N roll position cube actions are quite easy with no doublets possible. Possibility of doublets increases skill needed.

3) Doublets tend to have the most number of legal plays to sort through. Possibility of doublets benefits the skilled player.
