GNUbg JSD and rollout settings

I recall also seeing a posting (by Tom Keith?) that indicated that the way to gauge the confidence that play A is superior to play B, is to divide the equity difference by the JSD, and then compare it to a table which provides the confidence level.
You're probably talking about this post:

Unfortunately this formula applies only if you decide ahead of time the number of trials you're going to do. It doesn't work if you stop a rollout once you achieve a given JSD.
Also, a point of clarification: What I call "JSD / D" in that post is what GnuBG simply calls "JSD".
