Tight or loose ?

Let's review the match equities:
Win gammon: 67%
Win single: 50%
Lose single: 20%
Lose gammon: 0%So your gammon value is around 0.55 and your opponent's gammon value is about 0.67. However, if things go well for you, your recube will kill your opponent's gammons.
It seems to me that 13/8 7/3* is your best chance of winning. It gives you a chance to make a 5-point board and extricate your back checkers. If you're hit back, it's not all bad news because if you dance you at least won't crunch your board. If you play 13/4 then it seems likely you'll just crunch your board while your opponent saunters around slowly. If you try to leap out with a 6 then your opponent will be happy to hit loose on his 1pt.
It's possible that 13/8 7/3* loses too many gammons in spite of your potential gammicidal recube but I would still try it.
