1. I see three candidates: 11/7 8/7, 13/8, and 8/3. I don't think that 11/7 8/7 can be right with White's powerful four-point board and an even race. In the past I would have played 8/3 automatically but it's usually right to clear from the rear in this sort of holding game unless we think we're going to have to hit next turn. Looks like a normal position to me so I play 13/8.
2. A lot of choices here. First let's figure out our gammon value. A single win puts us at 35%, a gammon win puts us at 50%, and a single loss puts us at 7%. So our gammon value is a tad elevated but pretty close to money. I think we should go for gammons here, which forces us to hit with 6/5*. Then the most gammonish play looks like ripping two with 6/5*/4 1/off(2), leaving us with 4 immediate blotting rolls. The alternative is the safe 6/5*(2) 6/4. It might be too aggressive but I'll try ripping two. 6/5*/4 1/off(2).
3. It's DMP and the race is important so I don't see why we shouldn't hit. The alternative is to anchor but we don't care about gammon losses so anchoring seems less urgent than gaining pips. Not sure about the 5 but I guess I'll try to stay connected with bar/21* 23/18.
4. 6/4(2) looks like the natural play, producing what looks like a roughly equal position. The alternatives are to advance our anchor and/or make our bar point. Both have their merits but they're not compelling enough to draw me away from the natural move. 6/4(2).
5. The first two are easy: 22/20* 6/4. Now do we anchor or do we bring two more checkers into the zone with 13/11(2)? Seems like we're in blitz mode. We have no fear of being attacked when White has only 7 checkers in the zone, so why anchor? I'll go for the throat with 22/20* 13/11(2) 6/4.
