I'm more in the A camp, actually. It all depends on what you want to achieve, of course, but when I post something, it's usually because I feel I'm missing something simple and want my misunderstanding fixed as efficiently as possible - similar to Leo's BQ. I usually don't feel that the position I'm posting is an interesting quiz position for better players. Sometimes I'm not even interested in what the best move is, but rather how the magnitude of the difference to the second best play can be explained, and how the position has to be changed to change the outcome. I just don't get much out of your points 1, 2 and 4. I agree with point 3 though; I understand that I'm being rather selfish.

In my opinion, B style posts encourage "Next!" style replies. I don't need to go here for those, I can get them from my favorite bots. Maybe I'm wrong, though - let's see how BQ develops when Leo changes to the B camp. Maybe the BQ tag alone is enough to encourage helpful replies.

And, contrary to you, I never reply to B style posts, precisely because I fear I might look stupid. I sometimes do reply to A style, because I know in which niches of backgammon knowledge I feel secure.
