White has a four point board and an advanced anchor, while blue has diddly-squat for structure. As White, I would be hoping for an exchange of hits in this position. As Blue, I wouldn't want to give it to him. Granted, Blue is behind in the race, but it's not by much and Blue has escaped all his checkers which is worth something if he can hang onto it.

I'd just play behind the anchor, unstacking the 8 and 6 in the process. I see no value in volunteering a shot here, and I think I'd like to hold the ten point for now. 8/2 6/4.
