What I mean by good practice is ensuring that the side effects of stopping the rollout early are clearly small (but not necessarily negligible) compared to the uncertainty implicitly tolerated by choosing the number of jsds.

For instance, someone decides to stop a rollout at 2.3 jsds, thinking the risk of false result is then 1%. If the real risk is 1.1 or 1.2%, that's fine ; if it is 2 or 3% or more, this is more problematic.
