1. Are we desperate enough to hit? After bar/21 6/5*, dance, 4's and 5's are still awkward and it's hard to clean up our blots. I don't think it gains that much and of course we get gammoned a lot. If we don't hit then bar/21 6/5 looks like the natural safe play. Bar/21 6/5 it is.

2. I haven't learned a 9-point MET yet. For money I think I would pass. 14 pips is too much for a straight race and I think the contact favors White. I'm guessing the score shades this into D/T.

3. Opponent has an advanced anchor so I think bar/23 is "forced." The choice is then between 23/22 and 6/5 and I think 6/5 looks natural here.

4. White has a five-point board so I don't want to leave any blots. So I play 10/4 and then choose between 20/14(2) and 13/7(3). We're still behind in the race and I don't want to give up the anchor. 13/7(3) 10/4 for me.

5. Always make the 5pt? The alternative seems to be make the bar point and find a 3. It's an awful lot of shots but I'll still try the 5pt. 8/5 6/5.
