I slightly prefer switching to the ace pt over 6/2 here. This leaves me 28 rolls (OK I counted 22 which is blocked but switches) to attack on the 3 pt and 4 rolls to complete the close out. However, there's a nasty swing if Blues tosses 44 next.

If you play 6/2 then some of your next rolls that don't hop and contain 3's and 4's can break the 9 pt for new builders. I suspect this decision is close noting that White, if he enters may end up with more problems on the ace pt.

I trust you'll roll this out, so I won't.
