BQ: Go for the bar point?

I said this the first time this position came up, but I think the crucial feature here is that the opponent has an advanced anchor and we're still stuck on the 24pt. Thus splitting with 24/23 is practically "forced" and it's the 5 that we have to find.

This is overstating the case a little bit because there are some indicators in this position against splitting. However, I've found it to be an excellent rule of thumb to regard splitting in this situation (opponent has an advanced anchor, we're on the 24pt) to be the "default" play, to be overridden only when splitting is clearly a disaster.
