I play sometimes a 2,5 or even a 1,7. But if you average at 6,1 and you look at your lack of understanding in the 7.5 matches or even above with honest, you can't really claim expert. The bad matches gives a clearer answer of your abilities. So it is right in my opinion, that XG should be a strictly mistress. Look at other sports, for example bicycle race. At the TDF there are only 3 or 4 world champions for the win and 20-40 for a stage, the rest may be experts. Why not the same in backgammon? Playing like Stick, Neil, Ed or other is outstanding, and that should be reflected. Even to play at a decent expert level is hard enough beside your other life. Lowering the treshholds is good for some peoples ego, but destroying your ego should be the first in learning backgammon.
