You should still write down the score, especially when taking a break or otherwise leaving the table.
Your sheet should also contain time left on the clock, if applicable.
What's the point of the big scoreboard then?
1) Using that board, force players to agree on the score between games. The rules (at least the DBgF rules) state that players should speak out the score between games (to agree), not just write on their own sheet. This is a rule that is often forgot (and you then end up with two players whose sheets are different).
2) No "stupid" questions from kibitzers: "What's the score", "Is it the Crawford game", etc.
3) Makes it easier for the TD to follow the progress of games.
