Denmark v. World Final Match

I am a bit disappointed to see the President of the USBGF suggesting changes to the classic game. I'm not terribly familiar with the organizations supporting other games but I've seen nothing of proposed changes to chess or bridge, as examples.
Luck is an element of the game. Skill is an element of greater importance. There are many other factors: emotion, insight, creativity, innovation, psychology, and more. How opponents use, and respond to, all of these factors provide the character of the game.
Can the more skillful player control his emotions and practice his skill in adverse conditions, or does pressure, tension, fatigue, and/or concentration betray him. May either player correctly gauge his/her opponent's tendencies, flaws, emotions, etc. to advantage? Might creativity and innovation -- drawn from experience, skill, insight, intelligence, and other factors as noted above -- baffle, confuse or surprise the most skillful?
I think many of those advocating change, and some are among the very best players, unfortunately underestimate the subtleties and complexities of the game in the many strata of its play. Watching two mind-numbed bot-trained perfect robots play could well be boring -- but they don't exist. Knowing with increased certainly who will win a match does not, in my estimation, enhance the game, it diminishes the game.
