1. Seems like an easy play, so it must be wrong, but I cant justify not making the 5 point here, even at gammon save. 10/5 6/5
2. Ultra safe 5/2 4/3, basically conceding the game. Then there is 4/1 2/1, winning many more games but giving up gammon much of the time you are hit. It seems like there is a much bigger gap between the games won playing 4/1 2/1 than there is between gammons saved playing safe. Ill go with 4/1* 2/1.
3. I would play 14/3* 6/2* because I know I can redouble on his 44% dances. If he rolls a 3 Ill probably wish I had played it some other way, but all the other plays I see involve stepping up into harms way with the back checker.
4. When blitzing, any point is valuable, but at gammon go...Ill just make the 4 point board and not worry about getting hit, because I should get more shots looking at his candlesticks, so in the long run it seems worth the risk leaving the blot. 8/5(2) 6/3(2)
5. Ahead in the race, stronger board, gammon go again. 13/6 is way too ugly, it seems its either 21/14, or 13/9 13/10...there is also 21/18 13/9. This looks better than the other two duplicates 6s, increases the chance of picking up another blot with only a small risk, adds a builder to contain white's back checker, Ill go with that. 21/18 13/9
