3-1 to play

Difficult. We're behind in the race and our board is better than Black's, so it's worth considering some bold plays. One idea is hitting with 4/1* 2/1. Another idea is to try to make the 5pt, either by slotting it with 13/10 6/5 or aiming at it with 13/9 or 13/10 4/3. Boldest of all is to hit and slot with 6/5 4/1*.
However, before we get too carried away, note that Black still does have a four-point board, which is an antidote against playing too boldly. I think that leaving double shots is too much.
At the other extreme, we could play safely with 6/3, waiting for Black to expose a more favorable blot to hit, perhaps after Black's board crunches further.
I'm not sure at all about this play but I'll try 4/1* 2/1. This leaves just a single direct shot and puts Black on the bar, which we want to do at some point anyway in order to catch up in the race and gain time to get our checkers around. If Black hits back we still have plenty of chances left.
