I think it is more fragile. Although you have only one point to clear, it's tall and there's a big gap. You can play a few rolls from your low points but I think you're likely to run out of spares before you clear your back point completely.

This might be a good one to run through GNU's "View Statistics" at DMP to see how often the backgamer hits a shot.
