There are few other choices with a blot on the nine point. If you don't hit on the sixteen point, it is better to play B (Both, 24-20(2), 13-9(2)) than R (Run (24-16(2)). 41S-44 hits two and 43Z-44 hits two which is best. The only two relevant (common) openings where R might be considered would appear to be 43D and 54D. Are you comparing to these?
