I disagree. Many Backgammon players object to paying for services to expand their knowledge of the game. This is reflected in the extremely small number of services available for purchase. Backgammon has something like 1% or less of the materials available for purchase that Chess does.

I find this stance to be short-sighted since most Backgammon players play for money whether that means match or unlimited format. Money spent improving may be recovered at the table.
