First of all, being 15 effective pips (11 + roll) behind in the race I would never, ever leave the 21pt anchor, which is ideally positioned.

Then, as an inexperienced player I would attack with 7/2* 3/1 in order to try to contain White's last checker.

I would also consider 18/11, that duplicates 1s and partly 6s.

However the safe 8/3 8/6 should be one of the best plays available, even if I really don't like leaving an escaping 6 without owning the midpoint. Reason: experts say it's the money play :-)

@Casper van der Tak:
11 pips down in the race after the roll, we have racing equity, so not leaving hittable blots is important.

Could you please explain this point better?
