BQ: Stay back or run?

When you're behind in the race and at a match score where being gammoned doesn't matter, running is not the right idea. Maintaining contact until the bitter end is the right approach - I would definitely not run from the 21 point. And I'd like to hold the 18 point too, the problem is that that means playing my forward men and I don't really want them any more forward than they are right now.

18/11 gives lots of mobility, so that's a real possibility. 8/3 8/6 makes another homeboard point, but I'm wary of making the three before making the 5, and I kind of like the eight point at the moment. Hitting with 7/2 3/1 seems anti-positional - we've got a quasi back game and this hurts our timing and buries two checkers on the ace point.

I think I'm going to go with the mobile play 18/11. If we're hit, we recirculate and if not maybe we can build up our blockade in front of white's runner.
