Interesting idea, but one that certainly isn't new.

Anyhow..it would make for an interesting side event.

I'd certainly allow it to be used regardless of whether there's checkers borne off (honestly I can't see the issue here).

Yes..it would slow play down, so it has to be used with a clock. Since only the side giving the cube has to think, the time controls should be the same.
