Daily Quiz 5/2

1. Opponent has an advanced anchor and we're still stuck back on the 24pt. To me that means we almost certainly want to split unless it would be a disaster to do so. There are a few plausible plays that don't look disastrous so the question is how to split. We're somewhat vulnerable to attack so I'd rather not leave 3 blots around; that leaves 24/18 8/6, which is my play even though all those checkers bunched on the 6pt and 5pt look kind of ugly.
2. White already had a money cube last roll so the double here is clear and the question is whether to take. I'd pass here. Nine checkers in the zone isn't always enough to make it a pass on the blitz alone, but here White also has a powerful priming option. D/P. Even if it's technically a take, passing can't be wrong by much.
3. What a crazy position. It's hard to sort through all the options but I guess I'll seize the 11pt because it should be a useful asset vis-a-vis White's anchor. Bar/21 13/11.
4. Forty pips down, Blue must hit a shot. I think White will have enough trouble clearing the 11pt that Blue can take, but I'm not sure. Blue is behind in the match and I think has to drop sooner when there are no gammons, and it doesn't look like there will be many gammons here. D/T though I think the take is close.
5. I would definitely not double for money, but at 9a4a Blue should double more aggressively in gammonish positions. Against most human opponents I'd hold because even if I technically lose my market I might get a take next roll. Against the bot, I don't know. I'll go with ND/T still and be prepared to adjust my intuition if the rollout says otherwise.
